Bio
Chris Cunningham (b. 1988, Fairfax, VA) is a photographic artist and printmaker based in New York City. With a diverse professional background, he currently balances his time between contract matting and framing, production consulting, and photo assisting for a variety of clients.
In 2018, Chris founded Loupe Print, a fine art printing and framing studio in Chicago, which he directed until 2024. And prior, he co-founded and designed Contango Journal (2016–2020), an independently published and nationally distributed journal dedicated to critical writing and art.
Chris honed his craft through apprenticeships in framing at Archival Art Services and in digital printmaking at Adamson Editions, both located in Washington, D.C. He recieved his BFA in Photojournalism from the Corcoran College of Art and Design. His mother is a priest, and his father is a defense analyst.
